Eligibility: Confirmed admission in select institutes,
unmarried Indian below 30 years of age on 1st July in the year of
application, Those who have studied abroad already are not
eligible.
Subjects and Courses: Any subject. There is no restriction
on courses or subjects. Subjects which involve field-work in India
are not encouraged. In the past, Inlaks Foundation has awarded
scholarships to scholars pursuing various subjects that fall
within the disciplines of Humanities, Social Sciences, Pure
Sciences, Applied Sciences, Medicine, Architecture, Business
Administration, Communication (film, visual and print journalism),
Special Education, Law, Fine Arts (painting, print-making,
sculpture), Applied Arts, Conservation, Art Preservation, Textile
and Fashion Design, Theatre and Dance, Music and Composition.
Place of study: Any reputed university or institution
including the following:

Courses at
Oxford,
Cambridge,
London School of Economics,
Imperial College of Science,
Technology & Medicine,
Royal College of Art,
and other similar top-ranking ranking institutions United
States of America-
Harvard,

top-ranking ranking institutions
Europe- Graduate courses in any top ranking
institute. in which the candidate has obtained admission prior to
applying.
Tenure:
Inlaks scholarship covers one-way travel, tuition fees,
accommodation, and living expenses for the period granted. The
amount is decided and reviewed from time to time by the trustees
of Inlaks Foundation. The Foundation should be informed about the
tenure of other scholarships, teaching assistantships and
part-time jobs during the scholarship period before they are
accepted by the candidates. Even though, other scholarships are
encouraged, PRIOR DISCUSSION AND PERMISSION FROM THE FOUNDATION
IS MANDATORY.
Application and Selection Criteria
It is important that the application must be filled clearly
since the interview will be based on the information provided in
the form and the essay written by the applicant.
The Statement of purpose must clearly indicate the following:
(a) suitability of the course
(b) reasons for choosing the specific university
(c) Focus must be on the extra-curricular activities at the
college level, or during the 4 years just before the year of
application
(d) Reasons for studying abroad.
(e) Depending on the number of applications, it may be necessary
to have a preliminary interview.
(f) The final interviews will be held in June in the year of
application. The candidates will be informed 20 days before the
interviews.
(g) The number of scholars may range from 7-12.
(h) Scholars elect may commence studies at the beginning of the
forthcoming term.
Candidates in
Architecture, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, and related subjects must
submit 12 colour transparencies of recent creative work in a
plastic folder giving the size of the original, the material used
and the date of completion. It may not be possible to return this
material.

If
work is online on Internet, the applicant must submit the
web-site addresses (URLs), along with the application e.g.
http://www.achieverspoint.com
is a URL.

Candidates for Film, Dance and Acting must submit video-cassette
VHS as evidence of their achievement. These will be returned on
request.

Candidates for Music must submit a good quality tape.

Forms will be available from 1st January of each year for
scholarships beginning in September of that year.

ONLY CANDIDATES WITH ADMISSION TO A UNIVERSITY OF THEIR CHOICE
WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP.

Last
date for submission of forms is 31st March in the year of
application. Under special circumstances, of the admission not
having been confirmed by a university, the form will be accepted
till 15th April, but no later than that under any circumstances.
