J. N. Tata Endowment Scholarships
J. N. Tata Endowment Scholarships
Established in 1892, the
trust funds higher education of deserving Indians. So far, the
trust has supported 2,890 scholars and awarded Rs. 68 million to
promising students from various strata of society. The J N Tata
Endowment Loan
Scholarships invites applications from Indian nationals
in the pursuit of higher studies abroad in all disciplines.
Selected scholars may also qualify for gift awards.
Fields of Study: Technology, Sciences and the Humanities.
The Trustees are interested in subjects which would help in the
development of the country.
Level: Postgraduate, PhD and Postdoctoral
Eligibility: Graduate from a recognized Indian university,
with a consistently good academic record.
You can apply if you are in the final year of your degree course.
You can also apply if you are a mid-career professional with a
good academic background and experience in your field, wishing to
go abroad for further specialization.
Age limit: 27 years.
Selection process: After the
initial screening of applications, candidates will be short listed
for an interview in person by subject experts. The final selection
will be on the basis of the interview which will be held in Mumbai
between March and June 2006.
Procedure for applying:
>> Applications are to be made on the prescribed
application forms issued from the Endowment's Administrative
Office at Mulla House, 51 M.G. Road, Fort, Mumbai 400 001 from
December 5, 2005 to January 31, 2006 on payment of Rs 100 by cash
or by money order. Full name and address must be given in the
'Space for communication' on the money order form.
>> Completed application forms
should reach the Director, J. N. Tata Endowment, Mumbai House, 24
Homi Mody Street, Fort, Mumbai 400 001 not later than February 15,
2006.

Rs 50, 000 - Rs 2 lakh
Duration: 1 year, but renewable
