Top 10 Reading

"How to Get into the Top MBA Programs" is a very good resource on the business school application process. The book expounds upon three points very well: 1. Know yourself. Understand why you are considering a business school, determine what you expect to get out of it, and identify which programs are best for *your needs*. Be honest with yourself. 2. Market your strengths and weaknesses. 3. Stay on top of the admissions process. Do not apply without reading this book !!!,

What is the purpose of this book? -The purpose of this book is to give the reader personal accounts of the application process to a Top MBA Program. This book is designed to supplement, not compete with the existing "how to" books. The book includes 20 interviews of successful applicants to the MBA programs of Northwestern, Harvard, Stanford, and Penn.

One thing I know for sure, the authors of The Complete MBA for Dummies have done a far better job completing this task than any other business book I've ever read (and I've read a LOT of business books!). Kathleen Allen and Peter Economy really know their stuff, and it shows loud and clear on every page of this extremely well-written and comprehensive book. While the tone is humorous (fun, actually), it never veers onto the thin ice of silliness that plagues other books of this type.

This book is a great gift for a parent to buy for their child when he or she is either considering going to or is in business school, because it sets out important practical information about how to approach goals, decisions and processes. In this world, most of us are going to be happy to have a possible leg up on success, and this book appears to be a big help in that direction.
This guidebook gave us the first business school ranking from the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). When the ranking released, the news has propagated shock among MBA candidates, holders, and applicants, because the WSJ ranking was different from traditional one. If you are considering business school application, this book is must see item as the guide has different perspective from BusinessWeek, U.S. News, and Financial Times.
Scott and Omari have put together a very RELEVANT and timely collection of strategies and templates that were incredibly helpful in sifting through the information overload that happens when you dive into the business school application process. Their systematic approach of looking at similarities and differences between schools helped me with school selection, positioning and applications to 5 BusinessWeek -ranked top 10 schools.

This book is the second most useful b-school admissions book after "How to Get into Top MBA Programs"
This book is an absolute must for anyone who is attempting to apply to Harvard. It will not only show you the caliber of essays you must write, but it will also show you the kinds of people you'll be going up against in the application process. The book gives you sample essays for each type of essay question on the Harvard Application. If you're going to apply to Harvard, this book is a must!,

This book is very well organized. There are some charts that may look confusing at first, but once you read through, it all comes together, and each element of the chart is clearly explained. I recommend you read this book, if you are looking to better strategize your firms objectives, or if you are building a company from scratch and would like a general guide. Great B-school refresher
While this book covers North American b-schools, it is particularly valuable if you are interested in a European business school. We particularly like the primary source research from the surveys. While we would have liked to have seen even more quotes from the purported 4,500 survey respondents, this is certainly the most authoritative source we have found for European, particularly British, MBA programs.
