How long are the GMAT scores valid?

The GMAT score is valid for five years; however most of the universities insist on a GMAT score not more than 2-3 years old.

Unfortunately, you must make the decision to cancel at the testing center before you see your scores. In addition, the fact that you cancelled your scores will be noted on your official GMAT score report.

From our experience, highly selective universities place extraordinary emphasis on the GMAT. With hundreds of candidates competing for each seat in the class, schools use standardized test scores as a quick comparative benchmark. At many highly selective schools, your GMAT good scores are more critical than your GPA in determining your admission chances. We can't stress enough how imperative it is to do well on this test.

To level the playing field, universities consider your GMAT scores as an indicator of your performance in comparison to other applicants throughout the world. To become proficient at the GMAT, you must practice, practice, practice and practice. Know the material well before the test. Learn the test instructions by heart. Take several GMAT online practice tests under controlled test conditions. Online GMAT preparation will give familiarity and breed comfort with the process and increase your likelihood of a good GMAT score.
